Yesterday I went to Bourton-On-The-Water with my husband and my two youngest. For those who don’t know, Bourton-on-the-Water is a town in the Cotswold in England which has a river running through the main street. There are many quaint shops, cafes and pub and several attractions but the main attraction is just the overall prettiness of the place. We had a lovely day out and I didn’t have to remind anyone to notice beauty because it was all around us.
The first place we went to was an antique car and toy museum. It was very well presented with lots of memorabilia around the main attractions.
Afterwards we had lunch in a Hobgoblin pub and then it was off to Bird World where we spent most of the day there. There were many beautiful and engaging birds some in caged areas and some in just their natural habitat. The birds seemed obviously well cared for because they were sociable and appeared very happy. One of the things I really appreciated about Bird World was their consideration towards the eco system. Lots of bee and butterfly friendly plants, wild food, ponds, lakes etc. Parts of Bird World were woodsy and felt a bit like a part of God’s paradise here on earth.
Such a fierce look he gave me!
This guy was more engaging.
But none of the birds were as engaging as this cockatoo! Who came very close to us and was bobbing up and down but THEN decided it would be more fun to play tug-of-war with my son’s shoelace!
We were in stitches…ok mainly me!
